For Pastor's Wife

I am a pastor's wife and sometimes feel very alone with the struggles I face. I am grateful to have God to go to with my fears and tears, but sometimes I wish I had a close, earthly friend with whom I can share my heart. Especially when my problems are marital, or concerns for my husband's actions within the ministry or in his personal life, I feel there is no one I can talk to because I would not want to say anything to cause harm in his ministry. I believe my call as a pastor's wife is primarily to be his biggest supporter, which is difficult when I don't agree with some of his actions. Please pray that God will provide for my needs in this area, and that I will recognize His provision and accept it. Thank you for your prayers.

A pastor's wife in Manitoba, Canada

Comments:
Please know that you are never alone, God is always by your side. He loves you very much. I am praying for you.

Father, I pray for this pastor's wife. As my dear sister in Christ, I stand beside her at Your throne asking that you hold her up when she needs strength, and send comfort when she is alone. I pray this for all pastor's wives today, as so many of them feel a distance that we don't recognize. Help us to understand them and to reach out to them as real women who need friendship and a confident ear to share their burdens with.

Father if it be Your will, please draw a friend near to this one that is trustworthy and wise.

Lord Jesus I pray for your loving arms of comfort to surround our sister...Father you know her heart I pray that you would give her wisdom and Father I also ask that you bring a friend into her life that can advise her and walk with her during this difficult time.....I pray for the Pastor that you would convict his heart of any wrong doing and that you would give this sister the words to support & encourage her husband but also be able to speak some wisdom into his life...Lord open these precious children's ears to hear your voice in this situation.....
Thank you Father for answered prayer!

Lord, I know how hard it is to be married to a man of God. Sometimes it feels like you're continually "on the backside of the desert". Sometimes it's lonely. Sometimes, even after scouring scripture, you "hear" nothing. Right now will You speak to my sister? Give her a Word? Love on her real good? Fill her spirit with more than she can handle? I know that "He who calls you is Faithful" - and You won't let my sister down because You've called her to this station in life.

Thank you for being The Faithful One. Forgive us when we fail You. Help to keep us sweet in our souls. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Father, i lift up to you my sister in Christ. i ask for Your comfort and provision to be upon her life even as i pray now. whatever needs she have, i know You can provide. Father, speak to her about what your will is in their lives. send her a friend, Father. may Your joy and peace embrace her now. in Jesus' name, amen.

Father,

I pray that this dear woman could find a Godly woman to confide in; who could show her that she isn't alone. I pray that you can give this woman peace, and to do Your Will.

Thank you for listening to us always. It is through Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.

Praying for you, and for God's direction in your husband's life.

My prayers for with you and your husband, and that God will send you a Godly woman friend whom you can trust thoroughly.

You are speaking right to my heart. One of my dearest friends was a pastor's wife until he left her and their daughter last year. She has repeatedly told me since the divorce that they had problems for years which she did not feel she could share. "He was your pastor," she has said to me. "How could I lower him in your eyes?" I am glad you are seeking counsel, and I will pray that you'll find it.

Father, bring this dear woman a trusted friend, someone who hears with Your heart and answers from Your Word. Comfort this pastor's wife in the meantime and give her strength to fulfill her calling as your servant, and as your servant's wife.

I fully understand this wife's concern since I, too, was a pastor's wife. He was mixed up with another woman for years, but I could not share that info with anyone. Like Mandy mentioned, a pastor's wife doesn't want to ruin her husband's ministry before the eyes of the church membership. That affects many people in the church as well as the entire community.

My pastor/husband finally took off with one of our young women in the church and humiliated his own children. Our children fell away from the Lord over this situation, but have resolved some of this 20 years later.

Let's all pray that God will convict the husband/pastor of his sins and get his family back together before it is too late. Believe me, divorce is no fun. The results of divorce never end.

Being a pasator's wife is a very lonely walk a lot of the time, so lift up your pastor's wife and be her true friend. God will bless you.
