One of Those Days

It's been one of those days today. I've been able to find a good balance with family and CWO, and I've been happier than I have been in years. God's been good. This month was the busiest one yet for CWO, but with the new balance and God in control, I was able to get it all done, and stay on track--until this morning.

I woke up realizing that I had a problem to solve, and just as I put my hands to the computer to work it all out, the computer crashed, big time. I put my hand on the off button, but that wouldn't work, regardless of how many times I counted to twenty while holding the button. All I kept seeing was "memory load dump" accross my screen, while visions of the past thirty days work washed down the drain.

I closed the computer, and prayed, "God if it be your will that I go through a trial, I will rejoice, and if you restore my computer I will also rejoice."

I went downstairs and painted a door, then I called my sister, and when she picked up the phone, I felt myself starting to lose it while the tears brimmed in my eyes. Argh! Why is it that when I want to rejoice, I still get the tears? Thank you God for accepting my human frailty, and for loving me despite my weakness.

God accepted my weakness, but He also worked to restore my computer so I didn't lose the work I've done thus far. He is merciful.

I often wonder why I keep doing something that can be so stressfull at times, and perhaps we all wonder why we blog, or why we are involved in the ministries that we are. I've been able to see four women draw near to God and accept His salvation through online ministry, which when I do tells me that our words are not lost in the wind. It's not CWO that is doing anything, or the blogging community, but it is Him that works through us that is growing His church--as we work together as one. Thank you for your writing, for your prayers and your encouragement--all of you. Praise be to Him that giveth the increase in our ability to minister.

In Him...Darlene

Darlene,

"I often wonder why I keep doing something that can be so stressfull at times, and perhaps we all wonder why we blog, or why we are involved in the ministries that we are."

I wish I had a nickel for every time I have gotten myself into a project that grows mammoth before I realize it! And then one person, and it only takes one, might say that something I said or taught or wrote changed the way they view our God and the 'why' suddenly becomes crystal clear.

Paul said don't grow weary in doing good. I don't think he meant not to have balance. I think he meant, 'hang in there when it seems more than you can handle..it is then when the Lord stands near.'

He is near you dear friend! Your work enriches the lives of many, of which I am the first in line.

I pray you feel the prayers I am offering up for you today!

Much love,

Lisa

Oh, Darlene! I am praying for you! Remember it's your weakness in times like these that reveals God's strength. It's a powerful and humbling thought to be used so faithfully by God in a ministry as big as yours and you are up for the task if you rely not on your own strength but on Christ! I hope tomorrow is a better day!

I am always amazed at the way in which God works. Who would imagine that He could use blogging in such a way. I am so blessed when I read posts like this Darlene.
I'm glad your work was saved. Be encouraged - you are doing a great work.

Darlene,
As I sit here tonight finishing up my own post for tomorrow, I was pondering this ministry that God has placed you in and its uniqueness! Some of us have been placed to minister in the local church, others in the mission field in a foreign land, and yet this ministry covers all of the above and more.
As a community of believers, we have such a unique opportunity to encourage one another in our faith through the internet. Hearing of just one woman giving her life over to Christ or rededicating her life makes every word I type, every moment I sift through my thoughts and every prayer I pray for God's direction in my own writing (blog) so worth the time. I rejoice with you for these that have made a decision to serve Christ.

You are in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

Blessings,
Chris

I love you my sister in the Lord, and I am lifting you up in my prayers.

Praying for you. You have just voiced some of the things going through my brain lately.

And yes, when we see someone drawing closer to Christ it is all worth it.

Darlene, My Sister.... I have tears in my eyes.

Argh! Why is it that when I want to rejoice, I still get the tears? Thank you God for accepting my human frailty, and for loving me despite my weakness.

You will never know how thankful I am for your ministry. You touch people in so many ways for His kingdom.

I want to be present at the Bema when God says before the multitudes, "This is my daughter, Darlene, welcome her. In her I am very well pleased."

Loving you my friend, Lynn

Thank you so much for sharing this, Darlene. First of all, for being so transparent and allowing me to relate to that side of you, but also for sharing a way that we can pray for you and this powerful ministry. I have praised Him today for you, and for letting you see fruit thus far. (And for restoring your computer!) I loved the prayer you prayed, too. You are a dear sister and co-laborer in the Gospel. {{{hug}}}
