Prayers for Lori

Lorie has a 10 month old son, Noah. and we have gotten to know each other through the nursery at my mom’s church. My son, Jackson really likes playing with her son, Noah. When Noah was about 4 months old, Lori and her husband Daryl found out that they were expecting again. Two boys… 13 months apart- that’s enough to pray for.

About a month ago, Lorie found a lump during a self breast exam. She went to the doctor, and after a biopsy was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time, she was 25 weeks pregnant. The original plan was to do surgery, then deliver the baby around 35 weeks and begin chemo. The surgeons performed a lumpectomy last week and found that the cancer had spread to 6 of her 9 lymph nodes. Plans changed…

They were planning on doing a mastectomy yesterday, and beginning chemo treatments when Lorie entered her 3rd trimester. (I checked with a pharmacist friend, and there are some chemo treatments available that are “okay” for use during pregnancy.) After meeting on Tuesday morning, her team of doctors realized that they were dealing with more cancer than they thought, they didn’t do the mastectomy.

Now, the plan is to give unborn Zachary the best chance that they can. I’m sure right now she and her family are in shock. I’m in tears right now thinking what she may be feeling and thinking- thinking that you may not be able to see your boys grow into men. You may not even be able to see them to their first day of kindergarten. Imagine her husband, Daryl, thinking that he may have to raise his boys without the love of his life. But our God is still a God of miracles and he hears the prayers of his people.

My mom’s church is doing a 24/7 prayer vigil for Lorie and her family next week. Pray for Lorie, Daryl, Noah and (unborn) Zachary Johnson.

W.

My heart breaks. I will pray that she is healed and Zachary will be fine.

Oh Dear God you are the great healer...God please heal Lori...allow her to raise her children....God I know that all things happen for a reason so Father I am trusting you with this. Lord I know you can heal her instantly...if that is your will Father heal her now. Lord bring comfort and peace for the family and bring resolution and an answer for Lori.
Thank you God for answered prayers

Praying that God will bring healing to Lorie, her children need her. I pray for comfort for her family.

Lord God I lift Lorie up to you the healer and sustainer of all life. Lord God I pray that your will be done in Lorie's life, and that of Zachary's.

God you now how this family is feeling, and I pray that you comfort them, give them the strength that they will need. Surround them in your love, holding each one of them tightly to you. I pray for wisdom in the doctors that are helping this family. I pray that you will guide there healing hands.

God we love you, we desire to draw close to you in our times of heartache and pain. Draw this family close....hold on to Lorie and Zachary I pray in Jesus Name AMEN!

W, my heart goes out to this family. I have been praying for them.
