"Sandra Joseph"

Sandra Joseph is a humble receiver of the saving grace that Christ provided through His death and resurrection. Her 1st calling is that of a wife to Bill, her husband of 26 years, and a mother to 3 incredible daughters: Alycia, Laryssa and Audrianna. Next is her calling to encourage others to remember God’s faithfulness in their lives by Recognizing God’s work in their life, Recording that memory and then Remembering God’s amazing faithfulness—especially when the hard times come. She was the co-founder of Reminders of Faith, has written several books and numerous articles and has been a MOPS Mentor for 6 years. Also, valuable in her life is her church, her Bible Study and her numerous friends all over the world.

Currently, she is the Director of Marketing & Affiliates for Share HIS Story, a Christian Jewelry Company that creates compelling jewelry that encourages you to share your story. Sandra’s desire is to bring her Lord glory by writing and speaking to women’s groups, encouraging women that God is truly faithful no matter what their life circumstances are.

What is the title of, and where can we find your blog?
Recognize & Remember

What is the topic that you find yourself writing about the most?
The Lord has laid on my heart the topic of recognizing and remembering His Faithfulness throughout our lives as women, mothers, wives and daughters. As a MOPS Mentor, I write about mothering, my faith, and my family. My desire is to inspire women to love their husbands and children, to recognize God at work in everyday life and then to remember these memories when the tough times come (and they will come). Remembering God’s faithfulness is so necessary throughout our lives because there will be times when we walk through the fire and flood waters (Isaiah 43:1-3). We are called to pass on to the next generation, God’s wonderful works in our lives

“Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children and their children to the next generation.” Joel 1:3.

How can we tell God’s works if we don’t recognize & remember them?

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
As an author and speaker, I have been writing newsletters for years to the Reminders of Faith audience. These newsletters were full of ideas of how to remember and record God’s faithfulness. In the fall of 2007, my youngest daughter and I went to Latvia on a mission trip with Buckner Ministries, Shoes for Orphan Souls. I started the Recognize & Remember blog then to write each day about our experiences in Latvia. I kept the blog active since so many wanted me to write my MOPS devotions and thoughts on faith and family.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging? If so, tell us about how you met some of them.
I love to hear from other MOPS Moms ~ I have had some dear posts from MOPS steering members who need a little encouragement. The Lord has blessed me with friends all across the world and my blog is a wonderful way to connect with them as well as to meet new friends each and every day. My most popular posts are The Angry Mother ~The Wounded Daughter = Grace and My husband – Compatible or Completion. I have received numerous emails concerning these posts.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
I keep a running list of ideas for topics for Recognize & Remember. Sometimes, the topic sits on the list until I know that the Lord is calling me to write about it. Some days, I write about a topic that is not on the list. I usually always post my MOPS devotions at some point. Typically, it takes me about an hour to write and re-write each post and to go back and correct my mistakes. I typically write late at night and do the corrections the next day.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I have written for Reminders of Faith www.remindersoffaith. As the Director of Marketing & Affiliates, I write for Share HIS Story website and their blog I have also written Scrapbooking Your Spiritual Journey and The Women’s Ministry Guide to Scrapbooking, published by Reminders of Faith.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
The Lord has blessed me with a great husband of 26 1/2 years and we have 3 wonderful daughters: Alycia, Laryssa and Audrianna. Each of our daughters loves the Lord and has chosen to follow His leading in their lives. I love my family—they are my passion!! The Lord has allowed me to speak with LifeWay Christian Services MomTime Events, to write about my life for Guidepost Magazine and to be involved with many, many MOPS Moms. I have written numerous magazine articles along with 2 books. I love to travel, to host parties in our home and I have a passion for missions and family ministries.

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
My struggle has been not to judge my blog on the number of hits received each day. I must allow God to use my blog as He desires and if that is only for 1 person to read it—then that is enough. God does not view success as I do and I have to keep His perspective, not the world’s view of success.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
Rocks in my Dryer
and Living Proof Ministries - my Bible Study loves Beth Moore!!

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
“Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. Remember the wonders He has done, His miracles and the judgements He pronounced.” Psalm 105:4-5

“He has caused His wonders to be remembered.” Psalm 111:4

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
God is at work writing His story in all of our lives. Just as Mary (Jesus’ Mother) treasured special, recognizable moments in her life (see my post Treasured Moments of Mary, Jesus’ Mother)—we also have been given special recognizable moments of God’s faithfulness in our lives. I envision Mary standing at the foot of the cross wondering what God’s plan was in the death of Jesus—yet remembering how God had been faithful in her life as Jesus’ mother. When we come to moments in our lives that leave us wondering about God’s plan—my hope is that we too will be able to draw upon the memories of God’s faithfulness because we have recognized God’s work in our lives, recorded it in some manner and then remembered how God has been always been faithful.

Recognize, Record and Remember!

"Titus 2:3-5"

Tyler is, first and foremost, a wife and a mother. She and Pat have 5 children: Braeden (10), Abbey (6), Megan (almost 5), Shea (almost 3), and Malakai (6 months).  Just keeping the house from utter destruction is her full-time occupation! Tyler has also served as women’s ministry leader in her Church for the past 4 ½ years. This is a calling that God has used to stretch her, grow her, teach her, and mould her – and she is totally passionate about it! She tries to come to each of these roles with the joy of the Lord in her heart, and is thankful that His mercies are new every morning.

What is the title of, and where can we find your blog?
My blog is titled “Titus 2:3-5” after the scripture that has been imprinted on my heart.

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
A lot of my writing centers on my family. Being a mom to 5,  it’s not surprising that virtually everything I experience is coloured by my stay-at-home mom perspective.  I also write a great deal about my spiritual walk--the things God is teaching me, questions I’m pondering and such.  I just love how God speaks to me through the walks of others, so I believe it’s important to be real and share where I’m at with my readers.

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
There was a time where I thought blogging was, in essence, keeping an online journal for anyone to see.  That concept was terrifying!  Over time, though, I began to see the blog world as a way to connect, fellowship, minister and be ministered to.  This fall I sensed God asking me to step out and try something new…in December I finally got the courage to do what He was asking.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging?
I have yet to MIRL any of my bloggy friends.  (This is a new term I just picked up – “meet in real life.” :) )  I have about 20 blogs that I visit daily, and a few friendships are in budding. There are so many neat ways to find people you will like, but I prefer to check out the friends of my friends, and then their friends, and so on. Somehow, that makes me feel a bit more connected than simply searching out key words of interest.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
It depends… Some days, I’ll just pop on and have something quick and easy to write. Other days I’ll catch myself thinking, “this will be a great post for my blog” or “I MUST get a picture of that for my blog!” For some posts, I’ll draft them and let them sit for a few days before I decide to post them. One thing I always do, though, is pray before posting. I have this awareness that even the most mundane events of my life reflect who I am, and more importantly who Christ is, and one thing I never want to do on my blog is cause someone to get the wrong idea about God and Christianity.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
Not yet, but I’ve been praying about it. I’ve always known that writing is in my soul, but I haven’t yet figured out the how, where, and why.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
I absolutely LOVE reading! Any room you enter in my house has a book laying open. Christian fiction novels, my Bible, study books, magazines… As well, I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. In the early days of only one child I worked in the social services field with foster children. I’m not sure if I’ll ever return to the workforce, though, as I’ve discovered a deep passion for volunteering. I currently lead our Church’s women’s ministry, and in the past I’ve spent time doing peer counseling and facilitating parenting groups at our local Pregnancy Care Centre. Serving God in these ways just stirs up my soul!

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
You know, sometimes I just get too busy living life to be able to document it! I really need to set aside a time to post on my blog and read my favorites. I’m also learning some of the technology as I go, so something that might take an experienced blogger only a few minutes (for example, imbedding a video) might take me a good half-hour to figure out.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
My top 3 blogs to visit are:
Cindy @ Still His Girl (/),

Kris @ a doulas heart (/),

and Judith @ My Life with Five Children

Each of these women are so beautiful, so real, and so much fun! I feel very connected to them, even though we’ve only met in bloggyland.

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
Titus 2:3-5 "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

I cannot express how VITAL I believe mentoring is among women! And I don’t think it means only the older teaching the younger – but those who are more spiritually mature need to come alongside those who are young in their spiritual walk. Being a mom and a wife is a tough job with no instruction manual, and I know there are times where I’ve felt very lost and inadequate. We can all learn by observing other women who we view as successful, and we all feel better about ourselves when we’re in fellowship with like-minded women.

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
I’d like to encourage all the women out there in cyber-space to be open to how God wants to use them. In this age of technology, there are no limits to how we can serve Him – right from our own living rooms!

"Dena Dyer "

As a busy wife, mom, author, and speaker, Dena Dyer adores her life—but there are days when she wants her own mommy! Thankfully, she has God, her mom, and a counselor on speed dial. Dena is the proud wife of Carey and mom of Jordan and Jackson. When Dena’s not desperately trying to find her keys, she enjoys writing books such as Grace for the Race: Meditations for Busy Moms (Barbour) and The Groovy Chicks Road Trip to Love (Cook, co-compiled with Laurie Copeland) and tips for magazines like "Working Mother," "Family Circle" and "Parenting."

Dena, where in the blogosphere do you hang your hat?
At “Mother Inferior.”

Love that creative title! Your website and books reflect a lot of humor, have you always enjoyed humor writing?
Yes. I think I really started to add more humor in my writing after my first son became a toddler. At that point, I had a hilarious but busy husband, a precocious preschooler who floored me with the things he would say—and a full-time job, which kept me pretty tired. I struggled with depression, so I began to look for humor and lightness in my life to cope with some of the darker times.

Who are some of the authors that have inspired you?
Wow—there are too many to list. But I love Julie Barnhill, Erma Bombeck, Patsy Clairmont, Becky Freeman, Lauren Winner and Anne Lamott for their honesty and humor. For deeper themes, I’ve been drawn to Elisabeth Elliot, Madeleine L’Engle, C.S. Lewis, Henri Nouwen, Frederick Beuchner, Brennan Manning and Christopher De Vinck.

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I have always loved keeping a journal, and when I discovered Typepad blogs, I loved the versatility and immediacy of it right away. I started a long time ago in computer years, actually—since July 2005.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
I tend to have posts that I’ll think on for days before I write it, and posts that are off-the-cuff. There’s not really a set amount of time I take.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I write periodically for the Christian Humor Writers Blog and until recently, I was a weekly contributor on the subject of book marketing at the Christian Authors Network blog.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
Well, right now my main accomplishment is keeping the house from being over-run by dust bunnies (we have a laminate wood floor for the first time) and preventing my older son from putting my younger one in the hospital (why are boys so rough?)! But I also love to sing, and so I’m very involved in music. I perform every other weekend at a local professional music theater, where my husband is also in the cast, and I help a few hours a week with music at my son’s school. And when I have free time (yeah, right!) I love to read—anything at all, even cereal boxes. I’m a read-a-holic.

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
The typical problems, I guess—just balancing writing/updating with mommy-hood, work, and being a wife, daughter, and friend. When my life gets crazy, blogging is one of the first things to go. And that’s as it should be!

Who are some of the grooviest bloggers that you know?
I love what Leanne Martin is doing at Christians in the Arts. I am always challenged by Mary Demuth’s transparency at her blog, and Rachelle Gardner at Seek First His Kingdom is another favorite!

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
I’ve been ruminating on “delight” this year, and I love this verse: “His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man; the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalm 147:10-11, NIV.

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
We women are so hard on ourselves—and for some reason, Christian women are full of guilt! :) We beat ourselves up all the time. After going through a miscarriage, panic attacks, and depression a few years ago, I went through Christian counseling, and I learned to let go of my unrealistic expectations and perfectionist tendencies. (Of course, I still relapse. I call myself a recovering perfectionist!)

So I’d encourage other moms to be more realistic about what you expect from yourself and others. And don’t be afraid to admit your mistakes. You might think someone else has it all together, and you’re afraid to approach her for fear she’ll judge you--but she’s thinking that about you. And when we can all admit how messed up we sometimes are, then we can begin to find real friends… authentic, life-giving relationships built on honesty and laughter, not on a pre-determined standard of perfection.

"Amy Grant Bayliss"

Amy is a 30-something, Christian, homeschooling mom to three amazing little men who after more than four years of being a single parent, was wed to her best friend Ryan Bayliss in September of 2007. She is  a self-proclaimed canister collecting and appliance junkie, and she says a side effect of her ADD creativity gene is that she gets bored frequently with her hairstyles and must experiment with new ones... It is pretty much the same with her blog layout. She is a self-taught graphic designer, writer, and entrepreneur. Amy often hits home with her thought provoking, eye opening, and sometimes emotional way of writing to capture the hearts and hand of her readers. She has a desire to see the hand of God in everything, to always be aware of His presence, and to love and live life to the fullest. It is possible to have it all and you are only required to pursue one thing--a true, deep, and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Her longing is to learn from and help other Christian women as we all take this journey together.

Where in the blogosphere do you hang your hat?
Which one? ;o)  My personal blog is In Pursuit of Proverbs 31. The rest of my mad blogging skills are displayed at: Split Decisionz, CWO's Internet Cafe, and Heart of the Matter Online.

And the CWO Cafe is blessed to have you, Amy! You were the blogosphere's best-kept secret until we found you last spring.

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
I mostly write about seeing God in everything because He is there. You just have to look for Him. From the sunrise that promises a new day to the downpour of rain that cleanses everything and makes nature come alive. I also write about the eternal moments where God uses an ordinary situation from an ordinary day to drop a nugget of truth into my spirit. He is awesome and amazing and I want others to share that love for Him and the zeal for life that He has given me. So to outright answer the question – I blog about everything! There are no limits!

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I was actually just looking for homeschooling information when I stumbled across Sprittibee’s and Robin Sampson’s blog and just devoured all of the information they had written. I immediately started clicking link after link reading the blogs of these amazing women and I just thought, “Hey… I want to do this!”  So I did and I started writing. I later found and fell in love with CWO. Then some crazy woman named Darlene asked me to write for her daily devotionals site and another friend of mine, Amy, asked me to co-edit a homeschooling blog with her. It has been an amazing experience and I love it!

Yeah, I'm crazy about you, Amy! The first article that I ever read of your's had me bawling like a baby. Can you tell our readers about that?
About a year ago, I entered the “Spring Into Summer” writing contest at CWO. The topic was “celebrating life”. I knew that I had to enter! Celebrating life has been something close to my heart for so long so my heart was full of what I wanted to say. I wrote out my testimony and posted it. Then I got word from CWO that I won. I was ecstatic to say the least! They later asked me to fill in for a spot at the Internet Café, and after that to become a regular contributor. That was definitely an answer to prayer for me.

I wholeheartedly believe in this ministry and the heart it has for serving women. I love being involved in any capacity that I can and I let Darlene know that. Since then, she has asked me to take over coordinating the meme Tuesdays, In “other” Words. I also work with Lisa, The Preacher’s Wife, with graphics or other technical things that are needed for The Internet Café (that is when Darlene is busy cause she has some mad skills too!). One day I hope to be on the cover of CWO because I just blew Laurel Wreath away with the brilliantly written debut book that I would have just published or on stage speaking at the first ever CWO conference (Hey, a girl can dream)!

You're a recent newlywed--but I guess you know that already! LOL How did you meet your husband?
This is funny actually...

I began talking to Ryan online. We met in a social networking site and just began casually communicating back and forth. During the course of our correspondence God began to deal with my heart about not looking for a man to complete me but to look to Him. I wasn’t listening very well. Then one ordinary Sunday our pastor was speaking about how God chose us, each of us, to be His. Then he pointed to me (this is a church of thousands too) and said, “God is the groom who is waiting for you at the end of the aisle. He loves you so much and He wants to be the one to hold your hand on the beach and watch the sunset with you. He wants to shower you with love and give you precious reminders of how much He cares for you. He chooses you!” (paraphrased) I got it. At that very moment I not only understood and accepted but embraced the fact that If it truly was only God and I for the rest of my life then that was more than enough for me. A week later Ryan asked for my number and I gave it to him.

He called me one day while I was 3 hours away and asked me to attend an LSU game with him. I had to tell him no. Not only because I wouldn’t make it back in time but because I was on crutches with a broken foot. To this day he swears that I just didn’t want to go out with him (not true!) So anyway, we kept talking online and then like two goofballs we realize that we both go to the same church and not only that but the Christian band that I was managing at the time were playing the upcoming weekend at the youth group that he was a part of so we knew we would finally get to meet and we did. We have been together ever since!

Can you tell us about the websites and blogs that you write for?
In addition to my personal blog I also blog over at my other place: Split Decisionz, I design graphics and blogs and give free tutorials and templates for others to use on their blogs. I also enjoy writing as a ministry to other women. I am a devotional writer for CWO's Internet Cafe and I am the co-editor and a columnist for Heart of the Matter Online.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
My favorite hobby is snuggling on the couch with my hubby and watching some TV. Some of my other hobbies are scrapbooking, cooking, reading, traveling... I love to speak at women’s groups and meetings. I also used to do cooking classes with a biblical metaphor thrown in to teach about our relationship with him while teaching women how to save time and money in the kitchen and the tears weren’t always from the onions! :o)  I miss that and I am ready to start speaking again! I have had the pleasure of receiving several awards for writing and speaking. I have begun to write my first book and that is a great accomplishment but I’d have to say my greatest is being able to teach my boys at home!

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
I used to. It started to take up way too much time but then I decided that on Sundays I would write all my posts for the week for all of the sites that I write for. I have been doing that for a few months now and it is working out great! All I have to do now is publish them the night before and I’m done! Of course, on occasion I will get a bug to write something else for a particular day so I do. But overall they are all pre-written.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
Honestly, there are too many. I have become very close to several women from CWO and Heart of the Matter Online. They are all amazing and gifted writers and I would hate to just choose a few. They are, however, listed on my blog under “My Favorite Blogs”.

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised."

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
I am currently compiling material, studying/praying about, and writing a comprehensive Bible study based on Proverbs 31. I believe it is one of the most misinterpreted chapters of the Bible and it is my hope that this Bible study will free women from the idea we’ve been instilled with of having to be a perfect wife and mother and instead simply resting at the feet of Jesus where He intended for us to be. You know, like Mary and not Martha!

"Sting My Heart"

Originally from Bremerhaven, Germany, Iris resides in the Metro Phoenix area with her husband, Mark. Mark & Iris are the proud parents of a 22-year old son.

Although calling it the 'Desert Years,' Iris is thankful that God moved her to Arizona. Raised in a Christian home, Iris walked in darkness for many years in darkness, until God's amazing grace called her back into the Light. That is the reason she enjoys sharing her faith, joys, and struggles on her blogs.

What is the title of, and where can we find your blogs?
I have named my personal blog “Sting My Heart," based on the Scripture passage of Psalm 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”. The second blog is a devotional team blog. The team that God has assembled is awesome. The name of our devotional blog is “Laced with Grace”. We hope that God may use LWG to encourage others in their walk with Him.

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
Mostly I find myself writing about my daily struggles with life this side of heaven. Thank goodness for His Word that refreshes me on a daily basis. Without it, I am not sure I would be as happy as I am. Sting my Heart is also home of “Thankful Thursdays,” in which participants blog about things we are thankful for.

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I think what prompted me was that I wanted to share my faith with others. The hope that can be found in Him. Even though I still struggle in certain areas in my life, I know that I am forgiven. I want the whole world to know how amazing our God really is! I will be celebrating my 3rd anniversary on March 27th 2008. I can't believe that my blog has survived that long. I will have a little celebration on my blog later this month, with a couple giveaways :).

Oh, Iris, that sounds fun. We can't wait!

I know that you've connected with a lot of women through blogging. Can you tell us how you met some of them?
I think the biggest help was CWO's blogroll. Also since I have taken over the Thankful Thursday meme in Spring of 2007, I have met some incredible women. Some even have become writers on our devotional blog “Laced with Grace”.

Yeah, Thankful Thursday is a great meme, and a great way to meet other women of faith. How much time do you generally put into Thankful Thursday?
A lot – lol! No really, it takes a while for me to get around to all the wonderful participants every week. I put in about 15 hours every week with posting, visiting, reading and leaving comments. It is so worth it though (and hopefully others), to read how God is moving in people's lives.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
Lol – there is not much time left after a long day at the office. I do like to read when I find the time. And of course photography and digital scrapping.

Since you love photography and digital scrapbooking. Can you give us a link to your favorite creation?
I was asked which my favorite was before, and it's really hard to pick one, because they all have a story behind them. I do have a favorite one, which I just finished last week. It is called “It is Wonderful...” which you can find  in my gallery at Gotta Pixel.

What struggles have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
Time. I thought that I would have more time once our son would be on his own. There are just so many other things that I find myself doing. The only thing that keeps my blog going is "Thankful Thursday" :)

What are some of your favorite blogs?
Oh, I have met some incredible women over the past two years, but my favorite ones are still my sweet friends Laurel, Lynn, TNChick and Darlene (who doesn't blog that much right now ***sigh***). Oh, and of course the blogging team at Laced with Grace.

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
Every year He places a new one in my heart – if I want it or not. :) But my Bible verse that I have been living by is Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through him who strengthens me ”. I breathe that verse like air! :)

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
I like to be real in my posts. That is why I don't mind sharing my struggles. Sometimes I feel 'naked' when putting my feelings out there for everyone to read. But why cover up my struggles when they are real? That only shows that I need Jesus in my life. If I were that perfect person, would I look to Him for strength?

"Makeda Moore"

Makeda Moore, a 27-year old mother of a brilliant, four-year old boy, and the creative mind behind "LoveMakeda." This Senior Market Research Analyst by day and writer by moonlight resides in Chicago, IL where she sulks her way through the winter months and comes alive as the snow melts. Born and raised in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Makeda is still an island girl at heart.

Makeda attends Mars Hill Baptist Church on the west side of Chicago where she serves as a volunteer youth ministry worker. She specializes in orchestrating worship experiences for teenagers that tackle heavy subjects like sex, drugs, and self-esteem with God's unconditional love. Makeda has a love for writing and creating captivating experiences that help teens and young adults grow spiritually.

What is the title of, and where can we find your blog?
My blog is called LoveMakeda. I named it after my favorite chapter in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13, which gripped my heart since the first time I read it, and we're still in love.

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
LoveMakeda is almost entirely devoted to Suds, a mini-soap opera about Love & Drama among college coeds. It gets pretty slippery on Suds. I also write occasionally about my feelings, but not often :o) and I have also written about the love chapter in the Bible.

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
The first blog I visited was an agent's blog for writers about getting published. I visit the site often, and learn a lot. Then one day I decided it would be cool if I had a blog too. The word free sped up the process, but then there I was with my own blog and nothing to write about. I don't have overly strong opinions about much, and I've never been great at small talk, compliments of this need I have to know people on a deeper level. So, I really didn't have anything to write about. But then I made a joke about writing a soap opera called Suds, and the rest is history.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging?
Not yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. I do have friends that read my blog and send emails about how much they enjoy Suds. I love positive feedback… who doesn't?

Meanwhile, I have been reading the Spotlight on Bloggers interviews and silently perusing the websites of each woman. I'm continually amazed by how God moves.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
I probably spend one to two hours on each post. I wish I could spend more time to increase the quality of writing, but I have committed to deliver a new episode of Suds every weekday. No small feat for a working mom who also volunteers in ministry. It's never perfect, but I think there's a certain charm to imperfection.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I actually don't write for any other blogs or websites… yet.

I'm new to the blogosphere, but I'm fishing around for different sites that cater to teen and young adult women.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
My hobbies include watching reality TV… Yes, I'm serious. I love watching reality TV! Name it and I've watched it or at least considered watching it. The more ridiculous, the more likely I am to watch--a guilty pleasure that I readily confess. Although, there are some reality TV shows that even I can't stomach.

And when I pry myself off the sofa, I teach teenagers about God's unconditional love. At my church, we create worship experiences for the teens that are more like productions with skits, fashion shows, music and fun centered on directing our youth back to God. Special thanks to Saddleback Church's PDYM because it has opened our eyes to new way to reach our teenagers.

I'm also a writer. Did I mention that? :o) One of my greatest accomplishments as a young writer has been completing my first novel, Belle Linda. It's about a wealthy sixteen year old faced with her first identity crisis and a new relationship that pushes her boundaries. I never thought I could write a book, and Belle Linda was written within a two-month period via God's inspiration. My journey as a writer is all his doing. I could give more details on how I know this for sure, but then I'd just end up writing another book :o)

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
My greatest struggle with my blog has been posting daily. Sometimes I'm exhausted after work, cooking dinner, and attempting to clean. I play with my four-year-old, give him a bath, put him to sleep, and then I blog. Most of the time I love getting back to the drama, but other times, I'm just exhausted. However, I consider my blog as practice. It tones and conditions me to become a better writer. It is also a very necessary creative outlet after a long day of maps, reports and analysis.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
Right now, I only have one that I frequent--Rachel Gardner, Literary Agent because of the tips about the publishing industry.

A new favorite of mine is actually from the March Spotlight on Blogging: Extravagant Grace and Refresh. I've only read one devotional and one story, but I will definately visit those sites more often. I recently came across the CWO blogroll and I'm looking forward to fishing through for more favorites!

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?

"If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."
~1 Corinthians 13:13

And, 1 John 4:16 "...God is love..."

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?

God is bigger than our problems and our hurts. He is bigger than our challenges and our fears. He is bigger than the negative opinions of others, and even bigger than our shortcomings. God is bigger, and this immense being makes His home within you and me.

"If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." John 14:23

Amy is a stay at home mom of two extremely talkative, energetic children ages 8 and 4, and the wife of her own Mr. Incredible, whom she has been married to for almost 15 years.  She left her full time job as a College Administrator in 2000 to take care of her son who suffered a stroke at birth and developed epilepsy at age 3. Amy is a nationally sought after speaker for the Epilepsy Advocate Program and serves on the editorial board of Epilepsy Advocate Magazine. She also speaks to churches and other organizations sharing the miraculous story of her son’s birth and the lessons she’s learned about God and His faithfulness. She is a graduate of CLASS (Christian Leaders Authors and Speakers) and of Proverbs 31 Ministries “She Speaks”. Her desire is to teach women God’s word in a way that encourages them to apply it to their daily lives. She hopes to inspire others to rely on and praise God in their accomplishments and adversities. While peace like a river abides in her soul, Amy is a self-confessed “babbling brook” telling anyone who will listen about all Christ has done for her and continues to do everyday.

Where can we find you blogging?
My blog is Signs, Miracles and Wonders

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
I mostly write about what God is teaching me through my experiences in everyday life. The lessons come from normal everyday struggles like trying to get my kids to brush their teeth or not write on the walls. I try to look for God’s handiwork in every detail of my life, and then I get so excited about how great He is; I can’t wait to share it on my blog!

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I started blogging in August of 2007.  I didn’t even know what a blog was until I attended the She Speaks conference in June of that same year.  I attended a workshop by Marybeth Whalen at Cheaper by the Half Dozen on the benefits of blogging.  It sparked my interest.  Then my friend Carol at Sheep to the Right started a blog and encouraged me to do the same to practice my writing. After jumping around reading some, I saw what a great source of encouragement Christian women could be to each other through sharing our stories, and I was hooked.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging?
I’ve connected with several women who also have children with epilepsy. Meeting these women has been very rewarding. We have been able to encourage each other.

I’ve met most of these women through going to other people’s blog rolls.  Several people have also emailed me directly. Blogging has also helped me to stay connected to my old friends since our move from South Carolina to Georgia. When I haven’t called in a while…they check in on my blog to see what’s going on in our crazy, busy life.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
Some posts take me several days to compose, especially if it’s dealing with an issue God is working on in my heart. Others are family updates, and take only a few minutes.  I generally bounce back and forth between the two. I also like to share things other people have written that are especially inspiring to me.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I’ve just had a few devotions accepted for Faith Lifts, which will hopefully be posted soon; and I am going to be a contributor to Writer Interrupted’s Midweek Motivation.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
I really enjoy scrapbooking, but I haven’t had much time for it lately.  I am very active in the Epilepsy Advocate Group for which I speak.  I travel out of state usually once a month to speak to caretaker groups or to patients newly diagnosed with epilepsy. I love to teach women’s Bible studies at my church. I can’t pass up a good book, and I am usually reading several at a time. Also, I have just been asked to teach a workshop on journaling at the Glorietta Christian Writer’s Conference in New Mexico in October which I am very excited about.

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
Mostly, the struggle has been with sharing computer time with my husband. Thankfully, I have just gotten a new computer… so no more waiting. Also, when I travel it is difficult to stay current with posting.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
I read these every day:
2nd Cup of Coffee
A Planting of the Lord
Notes from the Soul
Living Oak Ministries
Sheep to the Right
Pass the Salt, Please

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
When I think of blogging, this one comes to mind:
Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

I pray that everything I write on my blog and comment on others builds people up and benefits them.

When I think of my life this one comes to mind:
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God is constantly teaching me not to worry, but to trust Him and be thankful in everything.

Amen! Those are wonderful scriptures. Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
I love Jesus more than anything and I try really hard to live what I believe every moment of everyday. But some days… the song "Somewhere in the Middle" by Casting Crowns sums up how I feel:

Somewhere between who I was and who You're making me
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control...

If you feel on most days like you are the only one stuck in the middle… come visit me. I promise you will discover you are not the only one. You will be reminded though that He is still a God of Signs, Miracles and Wonders.

"Cheryl Wright"

Derailed by her parents’ expectations Cheryl Wright chose a route different from the one she wanted. But God walked with her throughout her life and led her to the dream she cherished. Then He told her to use that dream to encourage others to trust Him to lead them to their heart’s desire. In August 2006, she transitioned from fulltime employee to fulltime writer. Her dream had come true. Cheryl has found her resting place in Christ and from there she writes.

Where do you blog?
I try to manage three blogs:
www.cherylwright.blogspot.com - Perspectives on life (a spinoff from my weekly column).
www.cherylwrightwrites.blogspot.com – Ramblings on the struggles, triumphs and joys of writing.
www.quiettimewithgod.blogspot.com  - Musings, lessons and blessings from my quiet time with God.

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
I am drawn to and feel most comfortable writing about what I call lifestyle issues. They encompass inspirational/ motivational, self-care, finding and pursuing dreams, goal-setting articles, etc. They all have the underlying truth that we can do nothing without God.

What or who prompted you to start blogging?
For a long time I’d been reading articles that encourage writers to blog as an extension of their writing career. I knew it was inevitable though I believed I was too internet-challenged to do it. When Sita, my friend of thirty-seven years, started her blog, Sita’s Sanctum, it was a kick-start to get with the program.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging? If so, tell us about how you met some of them.
It 's wonderful to connect with other women who have a passion for writing and sharing their faith. I am fairly new to this medium, but I've met and chatted with some lovely women through commenting on their blogs and when they comment on mine. That’s where CWO Internet Cafe comes in. It is the perfect forum to get to know other Christian writers who share the same passions.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
Because of my work load and other responsibilities I’ve been posting once per week. My goal though, is to post at least three times a week. But I won’t force it because I have a mandate to publish quality and readers deserve it. I tend to linger over my posts, fine-tuning as I would an article I submit. So I’ll increase it to twice a week in the interim and work my way up to three. Who knows, I may just become a daily blogger yet.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I’m a guest blogger at www.betterlivingtoday.net where I post pieces from my column.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
Art, decorating, and gardening are the three activities that I really enjoy. However, writing is my priority passion, and I don’t get to them as often as I wish I could.

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
Let me see, deciding on a topic and keeping a post short enough so that readers don’t lose interest.

But earlier this week, I read about a solution. Write posts whenever a topic crops up in my head and stock pile them. That way, too, I could post more regularly.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
www.sitahenderson.blogspot.com
http://keriwyattkent.blogspot.com
http://darleneschacht.com/blog.html
http://www.boomerbabesrock.com/blog

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
Romans 12.28 NASB ‘For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” This truth, this conviction, this faith takes us through every circumstance in our lives.

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
We can run but we can’t hide from God and His will for our lives. And even if what He has ordained is difficult, we can still find peace and comfort in Him. He never leaves us or forsakes us. And therein lies our motivation to do what He has called us to do, to do it joyfully and with all our might.

"Extravagant Grace"

Extravagant Grace is the theme of Elisa's life--a theme that has become more and more precious to her as she is continually awed by how the Lord has transformed her from a hurting, rebellious teenager to into a Daughter of the King, wife, mother, friend, and mentor to teen girls.

For the past decade, Elisa has lived with her husband at a college prep boarding and day school, where God has used her testimony to impact the lives of teenage girls in most unexpected ways. Even though she is one-step removed from the scene, while raising her four young children, God continues to provide opportunities to encourage teens to counter-the-culture in their thinking and behavior through relationships and speaking opportunities. The Lord has also used her children and role as mom to encourage other women to be all that God intended them to be, regardless of their past or present life circumstances. In her "spare" time, Elisa writes, speaks, teaches, designs, and serves others that God brings into her life.

Where can we find you blogging?
I blog primarily at Extravagant Grace, but you can also find me at Refresh, which is especially designed to offer teen through college age women soul refreshment through devotionals and stories from been-there, done-that, overcomer-in-Christ women.

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
My writing is very focused at Extravagant Grace. While at times I share stories from my life, most of my posts are either devotions, unpacking of Scripture or a Biblical principle, or a testimony of God's grace at work in my life or the world around me. I also use EG to encourage women in their spiritual walk through sharing relevant book reviews and links to other blogs, websites, or organizations. Currently, I'm running a devo series entitled, Holy Habits. Each Monday, I share from one verse and unpack it in a way that challenges us through Scripture to allow God to transform our coping habits into Holy Habits. I am also hosting a most delightful accountability group known as 8 in 2008. We began in January by picking 8 things to personally focus on in 2008. We check in and share our progress on the 8th of each month. The best part of this little group is the uniqueness of each participant, and that we can have new ladies join in at any time. So pray up an 8 in 2008 list and join us this month!

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I impulsively started blogging in 2006, mostly as a curiosity about this new opportunity to combine my love of words with passion for design. Since then, my blogging has evolved from thoughts about life to being a way to encourage other women, and finally to do both these things while testifying to God's extravagant grace.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging?
The best part of the blogging community is finding so many kindred spirits. We all seem to love the written word as we reflect on our lives and express the deeper thoughts that swirl around our souls. I find it refreshing and invigorating, offering a completely different experience from the other relationships in my life. These bloggy friends have a special place in my heart and prayers, although I've yet to meet anyone of them face to face!

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
Most of my posts have been thought about and planned for, as I want to provide my readers with consistency, encouragement, and challenge in their spiritual journey. Some posts come together very quickly, in as little as 30 minutes. Others may take a couple of hours, between writing and editing over a week or so. I only have a few windows of time reserved for writing over the course of a week, so the time at Extravagant Grace is determined by how many other commitments are weighing in.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I write primarily at Extravagant Grace and Refresh, and I am a contributor for a series of devotions beginning in March at Praising My Savior. I also have another site, The Ruth Project, which is designed to encourage those who are caring for and supporting widows. A majority of my writing time is spent preparing for teaching and speaking at a women's group in my community and with teenage girls.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
Outside of blogging, I set my creative heartbeat to many different things, from making jewelry to painting to playing with playdoh with my kids. I was an avid scrapbook, which I've resigned from in order to spend more time designing and writing. My greatest accomplishment is actually more about God's grace than my doing. The call to be my husband's wife and children's mother is the most important thing I'll ever do in my life. It is a privilege--a gift--to be able to love another person, while also coming to terms with your own inadequacies and limitations. It becomes such a picture of God's unconditional love for us.

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
The biggest struggle I find in keeping up with my blog is finding time to write all the things I want to share. Often I'll jot down an idea or start a post, but by time I have the time to flush it out, the idea is gone and desire to write has vanished. Oh, how frustrating that can be!

What are some of your favorite blogs?
It is so hard to pick favorite blogs, since each one offers something entirely unique and valuable. The ones I continually find myself inspired by, however, happen to be Mumblings of a Mommy Monk, Apples of Gold, PMS Club, Marybeth Whalen's, and Christian Women Online, of course!

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
One verse that has come to mean so much to me, especially in terms of writing and blogging, is Psalm 19:14: "May the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and redeemer."

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
I am continually awed by the way technology, and blogging in particular, has been instrumental in opening my eyes to this incredible passion to write and encourage other women. I often find myself wondering, what would I be doing if I wasn't blogging. That's always a good question to ask, as if we are telling our families, "Just five more minutes..." so that we can give our blog more attention, we can be pretty sure our priorities are askew (yes, I battle this problem!). Yet, when we keep our blogging in healthy moderation, it can be such a huge blessing. In this day and age where there is no well for women to gather around, the blogosphere has provided a place to connect and encourage. It is a place to find sisters in Christ, who care deeply and love sincerely, all through words and expressions of themselves at their own blog. What a gift from the Lord. I pray you will share with me in giving God all the praise for anything and everything He's done through my blog and yours!

"The Surrendered Scribe"

Julie Arduini has been writing since she shared her stories on the school bus. These days she writes as God directs, which is to encourage women to take the broken places of life and inspire others.  She has been married for over 11 years and both her and her husband have a heart for serving in marriage ministry.  They have two children, a nine-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.  They live in NE, Ohio.

What is your blog titled?
The blog is called The Surrendered Scribe.

What is the topic or topics you find yourself writing about the most?
I love writing about any topic that encourages others. The best feedback I receive is when I share my heart with authenticity.

I’ve vented about car shaped grocery carts, confessed how I too often take fries from my kids’ take out food and justify it, and let everyone know what I might be learning in a current book or Bible study.  I recently finished a series blogging Mondays on my thoughts on each chapter of Captivating and starting February 18, 2008, I’ll be blogging Mondays on the new Joy Chickonoski book, Becoming Lovers: The Journey from Disciple of Christ to Bride of Christ.

What or who prompted you to start blogging?
I believe it was God that prompted me to start blogging. In late 2006 I felt His urging me to give up my “Isaac,” which was serving as publicity chairperson for the local Mothers of Preschoolers chapter. I loved doing that and I felt it served my life’s purpose to encourage women with the written word. Yet I knew I was holding on to the position as a security blanket and I wanted to be obedient. Once I announced I would not return to the position in the new year, I knew in my heart that blogging was a first step in my writing actively for an expanded outreach.

At the same time I was dealing with the theme of surrender in my life and I completely surrendered my writing fears and what others might think. The day I made that commitment was the day I created The Surrendered Scribe, December 31, 2006.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging? If so, tell us about that experience.
I’ve been very blessed to meet other women through blogging.   Whether they've visited my blog or not I think the neatest women I've met were through participating in prompts through the blog, Wrapped Emotions. I’ve also joined in some writing carnivals and various memes that helped me meet great ladies.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
Each post is different. I really try to write as God directs and when I feel that “burn in my belly”, then I know it’s time to write on what’s on my heart. Most of the time posts write themselves and they take about twenty minutes. What takes longer is when I try to play with the layout or do things that I have no clue on!

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I’m very blessed to be the Sunday “Mommy” blogger through the Christian Writers Forum. The bloggers at the forum are members and/or graduates of the Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild.  I worked with the administrators on creating the blog and together we came up with the idea of “A Day in the Life” series.  Each day a writer blogs about their writing journey against the backdrop of their season of life. Other bloggers are single young adults, newlywed, empty nester, married business owner, and grandma. In November 2007 I facilitated an interview on the Forum blog with author, speaker and humorist Jenn Doucette called, “Step Away from the M&M’s”.  This interview is for women/moms. You can find that here.

In 2008 I feel another nudge to create a new blog about deeper things of faith with multi bloggers. I have two dear friends who live close by who have a passion to write for Christ and we all confessed recently we believe we are to start this new blog.  However between busy husbands, kids, and snow days, we are having trouble meeting together!

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
I’m excited to be a graduate of the Christian Writers Guild and be active with the Forum. Besides blogging there, I’m facilitator for the Missing Pages Book Club where I’ve hosted live chats with authors James Scott Bell and Eva Everson. Our next live chat is with “Let Them Eat Cake” author Sandra Byrd. I’m also active with FaithWriters.com where I’ve made great publishing connections and friendships. Recent and upcoming writing accomplishments include my testimony regarding choosing faith over fear after our daughter’s near death was published in Lori Wagner’s book, Quilting Patches of Life.  My FaithWriters challenge entry, Resurrected Dreams, will be in an upcoming FaithWriters anthology. More Than a Drink Coaster is my submission to the Peculiar People’s Postcard Project. That book will be out in 2008 or 2009. With an Outstretched Hand and In Order to Live Some Words Have to Die will be published this Spring through Women of Passions/Heart of God International.  All those opportunities came about from FaithWriters.

Although it started out because of my blog, an expanded accomplishment was author Kathy Vick found my blog after researching how a book of hers was doing online. She kept reading my blog and wanted to encourage my readers by offering them a free one time Valentine’s Day 2008 Life Coaching session. She also invited me to submit a quote for her 2009 Howard/Simon and Schuster gift book, Run Like a Girl.  That was a blast to write and is about my time where I was buried by a snowplow!

Outside of writing and reading I have a passion for prayer.  I love Bible study, especially by Beth Moore. I actually enjoy public speaking, especially when I can share my broken places with others and encourage them in their season.  I’m a Sunday School teacher and help out in Children’s ministry, as well as our church marriage ministry.

Most of all, the above all takes place after family. Our son is a gifted prayer warrior with a sensitive spirit that I love to watch and see what God will do next in and through him. Our daughter was quite sick as a baby and I clung to the promise she would be an overcomer. These days her health is stable and she is just a walking party, full of joy. My husband is active with the church choir. Any blogging or writing endeavors take place in the morning when kids are in school or late at night when everyone goes to bed!

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
I struggle because my husband is a computer programmer and extremely busy. He supports all my writing and blogging so much, but I want to navigate the writing waters on my own if I can.  Technology seems to be moving way faster than I am. Just when I figured out how to put buttons on the blog, they put new things like Digg and Delicious on there and I have no clue what those things are, yet; I want to keep with the times.  I put a lot of pressure on myself when I see something and want to try it, but I don’t have the knowledge.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
These blogs are ladies who starting blogging after God nudged them to surrender fears and/or answer the writing call like I did.  Kat, Jennifer and Kim.

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
Although my life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, the verse that has absolutely grabbed me since last year is Hosea 2:14.  I’m meeting so many women who are discouraged and I want them to know that empty place is not an alone place. God is there, and He finds you absolutely captivating.  He wants to speak tenderly to you during this desert feeling time.

If any reader feels a desire to do something but has fears, I encourage them as Joyce Meyer says, “do it afraid.”  I am not the strongest or best writer or blogger out there but I believe God didn’t call the equipped, He equipped the called. I know I’m called to blog.  Whatever the calling, surrender today.  They will be so glad they did!

She is a Women's Ministry Coordinator, who also teaches creative dance / and signing ministry called Devotion In Motion. She and her husband write songs and music for various Christian events. They sing with the praise and worship team at their church, and also volunteer each week for an afterschool Christian youth program.

What is the title of, and where can we find your blog?
Encouragement From My Heart

What are the topics that you find yourself writing about the most? My journey with the Lord, words of encouragement, poetry, devotions, and all that the Lord inspires and put's upon my heart to share.

What prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I started Blogging when I started Chemo/ and treatments for a life threatening Chronic Liver illness last year. Blogging has lead me to the the most intimate times with the Lord that I have ever experienced as a woman of God. The more I blogged, the more I realized this was not going to be a blog focused on my illness, but a blog that would be an encouragement to others as he carries me through. I may have a chronic illness, but it doesn't have me. :)

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging?
I have been honored and blessed to be a part of Christian Women Online so many blogs have blessed my heart. I have also met so many women from all over the world from various blogs and websites. I enjoy their daily emails, cards, and even little surprises sent to me just to say thanks for the encouragement. What a sisterhood we have as christian women!

I have met them through Christian Women Online blogs, Various Crafting sites, Women's ministries sites, writing and poetry sites, and just by visiting each other's blogs.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
I really pray before I share anything on my posts or blog. I seek inspiration from the Lord that is very important to me. I work on it throughout the day when I have a peace in my spirit I will post it.

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
I have written and shared my testimony, poems, and creative crafts with many different women's sites when asked. I am working on putting devotionals together for a christian chronic illness website called Rest Ministries.

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
My heart and desire has always been working with young girls and women especially those who are hurting and going through various issues in life on the streets, addictions, homeless, abused, mental disorders, those who are ill, I enjoy creating support groups or leading workshops. This has been a calling in my life that I know the Lord has lead me to.

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
The only time I seem to struggle is when I'm not feeling well due to my illness, but the Lord has been faithful in helping me to keep up with my writing. I'm not hard on myself when I am not able to.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
There are just so many to name but I must say CWO was the gateway I passed through to find so many Women's blogs that touched my heart and my life in a special way..

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
Nehemiah 8:10.. The 'JOY' of the Lord will be your strength. This is my life scripture that the Lord placed upon my heart when I first became a christian. Little did I know that this would be the scripture that would see me through the most difficult times in my life, it has never failed me.

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?

I just want to encourage women everywhere to share the gifts that the Lord has placed upon their lives, There is such power when women get together and encourage one another as sisters in Christ. In all that he has brought us through it's not ours to keep to ourselves, the blessings and healing comes when we can share it with other women who might be going through a similar situation. We get the victory and God get's the glory.

"The Nostalgic World
of Newlyweds"

Ashley is a 22-year-old newlywed; her husband Kurt is in medical residency for anesthesiology. She is also a pastor's daughter, which she considers a blessing and privilege. This has allowed her to live in 5 different states growing up. Although they don't have children quite yet, Kurt and Ashley are the proud parents of a very active cat named Doris Day.

Ashley attended Baylor University and Mississippi College, studying interior design. She lived in London, England for a semester and has traveled all over the world, which is still one of her passions. She has performed in musical theater for many years and it is one of her greatest loves. She met Kurt through circumstances which only God could have put in place, and they married in June 2007, which led to the decision to end her college career and focus on being a wife. Ashley enjoys anything vintage, studying the Tudor period of English history, reading, celebrating Christmas (all year!), and has an "obsession" with Disney World--her favorite place. Her greatest love is Jesus--what a wonderful Savior we have!

What is the title of, and where can we find your blog?
The title changes as my mood changes, but right now it's: "The Nostalgic World of Newlyweds"

What is the topic or topics that you find yourself writing about the most?
I love to write about everything! I love to talk about my wonderful family and what's going on in our lives. I write about the books I'm reading or movies I've seen, and what God is teaching me lately. Recently people have been asking me to give my Disney World tips!

What or who prompted you to start blogging, and when did you start?
I just started exploring the blog world one day, and found that many friends that I have from church have blogs. I love to write, and I'm terrible at keeping a journal, so this is my attempt at recording my life! I started after we got married, so it's only been a few months.

Are there any other women that you've connected with through blogging?
I've connected with women in my Lifegroup (Sunday School) class at church, and I have been keeping track of several old friends. I'm constantly finding "random" blogs that I love to read.

How much thought and time do you generally put into each post?
I have a lot of free time at work (I work two days a week as a receptionist), and so I usually blog during the day when I'm there. At home, I blog in the evenings and usually spend around an hour exploring others' blogs and updating my own. I definitely put thought into each post, because I like to be descriptive, and also sometimes I have to filter my thoughts so they don't just spill out!

Are there any other websites or blogs that you write for?
Not at the moment...but I would love that!

What are some of your hobbies or accomplishments outside of blogging?
Musical theater performance (I've had leads in "Oklahoma", "Guys and Dolls" and Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" to name a few), TRAVELING (I'm always planning a trip, even if I don't know when I'm going), and spending time with Kurt and my family. They are just awesome!

What struggle if any have you experienced with keeping your blog up?
It's not a matter of keeping up with it, but I'm sure once or twice I've said something that might have offended some people. I have some readers who don't necessarily share my beliefs, and so I have to be careful and tactful in how I write sometimes.

Can you leave us with a Bible verse that God has placed on your heart?
"A house is built by wisdom, and it is established by understanding; by knowledge the rooms are filled with every precious and beautiful treasure." Proverbs 24:4 HCSB

This is the goal for our household!

Is there anything that you'd like to add in closing?
God is such a faithful God. Marriage, like anything else in life, is so much easier when you know the He is directing your path!
