Hello from the Great North Woods of Maine

Hi all, my name is Moira I am a 29 yr old mom of three. We live on a little organic farm in the Great North Woods of Maine.

I was not raised in a Christian home although my aunt and uncle were Christians and took me to church with them every Sunday. I was baptized at 7 years old although I didn't exactly 'get' what baptism meant.

Backslid as a rebellious teenager; felt horrible when mom needed back surgery when I was 16 so I went independent study in high school, got my diploma two years early as a fact and stayed home to take care of her. Dad decided to cut back at work so I could have a somewhat "normal" teen-hood; I backslid again and took a great Christian boy with me.

When I came back to Christ about a year later he would have no part of it. We reconciled anyway and after a while God showed me we weren't meant to be. I didn't listen to God again until it was too late but that gave me three kids inside a married relationship that lasted 6 years. After the abuse got physical and the drinking got terrible I left my (now) ex and started getting my life in order. I met a terrific Christian man at AA and had my first truly platonic, later non-physical love relationship ever. We were married on October 11, 2005 and the wedding night made me say, "A-ha! This is why you're supposed to wait." Nearly five years later and I have a tree helpmeet and father figure for my three kids aged 10, 7, and 6.
