You have reminded me of the importance of journaling. It seems that when I look back, I am astounded by how often I make God repeat Himself! He has been so patient and faithful!

What an inspiring post. I am especially appreciative that you stressed the importance of journalling. That has been one of the best things I have done to grow spiritually as well as in every other area of life.

Great post! I think Journaling is a great way to make time with Christ. Not only does it help you to take that ONE thing (prayer) seriously, (you cant journal and wash dishes at the same time) but also it is a great way for you to look back on the entry's before and see how much God loves and bless's you daily!...and what to keep praying for, what has been answered, and maybe even how his will is better than our own.

Thank you so much for the encouragment - your list seems so simple and yet implementing these things takes such discipline. I have been journaling for years and praying before the family wakes up - but adding reading through the Bible (I'm using a plan) along with doing a Bible study group (Beth Moore) is my new challenge for the year! I hope I have not bit off more than I can chew!

It's a daily battle to stay disciplined when it would feel so nice to just plop in front of the television and be entertained or sleep in a little!

Thanks again for the encouragement!

Thanks for the reminder. You are 100% right on this. When I start the day with the Lord, everything is much better, especially me.

Great article Lisa. I could not agree with you more about "feeding yourself" first. I am no good to anyone unless I have had my quiet time. My day can still go bad, but for some reason if I have had my quiet time I seem to be able to handle the bad things life throws at me. Happy New Year.
